Maar het beziet het mededingingsrecht ook in een breder verband: wat is de invloed van het mededingingsrecht op het vrije verkeer; de toepassing van het mededingingsrecht op het internationale zeerecht; de interesse van consumenten in dit onderwerp; de relatie tussen bestuursrecht en mededingingsrecht en, niet te vergeten, kwesties rondom staatssteun.

Dit boek bevat bijdragen van experts op het gebied van Europees recht en mededingingsrecht. Het is een hulde aan Virpi Tiili, de rechter die in de herfst van 2009 afscheid neemt van het Gerecht van Eerste Aanleg. Met onder andere een bijdrage van prof.mr. Arjen Meij, rechter in het Gerecht van Eerste Aanleg bij het Hof van Justitie van de EG en gasthoogleraar Europees publiekrecht voor 2009 op de Wiarda-wisselleerstoel aan de faculteit Recht, Economie, Bestuur en Organisatie van de Universiteit Utrecht.
