Postcodes have become a common basis for organising information collected in the public and private sectors, Census 2001:Key Statistics for postcode sectors in England and Wales supports this wider use. This report with an accompanying CD provides results from the 2001 Census for postcode areas, districts and sectors throughout England and Wales and contains selected Key Statistics in an easily understandable format. In the CD you will find Key Statistics providing information for all topics covered by the Census, plus Postcode Sector Profiles, which are designed to provide summary results.
There are still more releases to come from the Census series throughout the year. When complete there will be around five billion separate cell counts included in the statistics tables.
