Chinese American Names

Focuses on the naming practices of Chinese Americans. This work shows that surnames are clues to Chinese dialect sounds, that many have been Americanized, that surnames were created, and that as the Chinese American population has grown, fresh name practices developed and surnames have proliferated. It also includes ideographs to surnames.
