Oral Traditions as Philosophy

Ugandan poet and cultural critic Okot p'Bitek's work engages with the oral traditions of his people, seeing them as manifestations of the people's philosophy of life. This text places the philosophical questions raised in Okot's work, within the picture of contemporary African philosophy.
